Will Smith's latest flick, 'Focus' has topped the weekend box office charts with 19.1 million dollars even after disappointing the expectations of many analysts.

The 'Men in Black' actor and Margot Robbie starrer movie was expected to earn between 21 million dollars to 23 million dollars, but unfortunately stands as the actor's second weakest debut in last ten years, after 'Seven Pounds', Fox News reported.

According to critics, the disappointment reflects that the star power of the 46-year-old actor has gone down and it's now speculated that the John Requa directed movie would have performed better if they would have casted George Clooney or Brad Pitt.

Jeff Goldstein, distribution executive and vice president at Warner Bros. said that Smith was terrific in this film, but if anyone compares his latest to his other hits then it would be unfair, as this was a movie that itself expected to be a mid-range to low-range budget and with that the results were consistent.

Goldstein added that the snow and the freezing cold in parts of the south and mid-west could be the reason behind the film missing expectations, and if the weather situation wouldn't have been the same then they would have hit 20 million dollars-plus.
