In a comic turn of events, Hollywood actor Will Smith tried to hijack race driver Lewis Hamilton ahead of the latter's final race of the F1 season in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
Will shared the whole episode in his Instagram account. Ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Will of 'Men in Black' fame tied Hamilton to a chair with the help of a duct tape and revealed to the champion racer that this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the 'The Pursuit of Happyness' star to participate in an F1 race.
"Okay, here's the deal. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me, man. You've already won, save something for other people. You're black, I'm black, nobody is going to know the difference. I got this, " said Smith.
Hamilton who tried to break free from the chair started shouting, "I got to race, man" repeatedly. Following which Will said sorry as Hamilton kept on shouting "You better win, man".
Ahead of this comic episode, Will and Hamilton posed for photos and chatted about the race cars, while wearing matching Formula 1 suits.
Earlier Will took to his Instagram account and shared a candid snapshot along with Hamilton. Comically enough, Will in his caption revealed his desire to race in the prestigious race, writing "Hangin' wit' my boy @lewishamilton for the last race of the @f1 season!! Yo @mercedesamgf1, this suit is hot, now I just need the car to match- put me on the grid!!"
Eventually, Hamilton turned out to be the winner of the race.
In the work sphere, Will Smith will be next seen in the live-action interpretation of the famous Arabic folk tale 'Aladdin'.
