Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi has asserted that a woman trained in self-defence can handle a situation and protect herself whenever her safety is threatened.

"All I said was that women trained in self defence can handle any situation where her safety is threatened. The right of private defence extends to the causing of death, it's a provision in the Constitution," Bassi told media here.
