World No. 1 Tiger Woods failed to post a sub-par round in pursuit of his 15th Major, on a perfect day for scoring as the PGA Championship began.
According to the Mirror, the American superstar had a four-foot putt to go -three-under par on his 11th hole but after blaming being put on the clock for slow play for his miss, Woods then struggled coming home.
He is six-shots behind clubhouse leader Jim Furyk and insisted that he was still right there and as of now, there was a long way to go.
Woods failed to take advantage of the easiest scoring conditions of the week after an overnight thunderstorm dumped a quarter of an inch of rain on the East Course in one hour, the report said.
Play was suspended because of thunderstorms in the area before many players had completed their rounds, bringing back memories of the rain-hit US Open back in June, the report added.
