Indian Tigers will take their first shot at the International Boxing Association (AIBA) backed World Series Boxing Season 8 that triggers off all over the world with the best pugilists from the roped square in action.

Olympic champions, World champions, Commonwealth champions and Asian champions will slug it out in this unique global team boxing competition that starts from February 9.

Flyweight boxer Kavinder Singh Bisht will lead the Indian charge against Kazakhstan's Astana Arlans while much is expected from Ankus Dahiya in the light weight class and Duryodhan Singh Negi in the Welter weight category.

Boxing Federation of India promoted Indian Tigers will represent in the World Series Boxing for the first time.

"Our boxers have been performing well internationally and they have trained hard for this competition. The boys are confident of a good show," said Commonwealth Youth Games gold medalist boxer Sachin Siwach.

"This is the first time I will be taking the ring in a professional competition, but the Indian Tigers are ready to take up the challenge and win the tie," said Kavinder Singh, the Hamburg World Championships quarterfinalist.

The five-member squad includes Kavinder Singh Bisht (fly), Ankush Dhaiya (light), Duryodhan Singh Negi (welter), Brijesh Yadav (light-heavy) and Praveen Kumar (super heavy).
