A book about Twitter has revealed that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and its former Vice President Al Gore were once interested in acquiring the microblogging site.
The book authored by Nick Bilton, titled, 'Hatching Twitter: A True Story of Money, Power, Friendship and Betrayal', reveals the host of potential buyers that became interested once Twitter got off the ground.
The book states that Al Gore pitched Twitter founders Evan Williams and Biz Stone one night over copious amounts of wine and Patron tequila at his St. Regis suite in San Francisco apart from Steve Ballmer, the chief executive of Microsoft, who approached Williams during a private dinner at Bill Gates's home, Fox News reports.
According to the author, Zuckerberg was also one time interested in striking a deal for Twitter acquisition with its co-founder Jack Dorsey, but once the Twitter founder was ousted as the chief executive, the Facebook boss decided to hire him at his company.
The book describes Dorsey as a 'sometimes chief executive', often leaving the office for other hobby classes, the report added.
