13th edition of Maruti Suzuki Autocross concluded successfully at Buddh International Circuit

The Buddh International Circuit held- 13th edition of Maruti Suzuki Autocross, witnessed great response with more than 200 participants taking part across various categories.

In the three day event, participants got a chance to showcase their motoring skills and test car's capabilities. The task was to finish the 2.2 kms lap with stretches, bends and sharp turns in the shortest possible time. Over 80 drivers fought for the top position in the final round, in which Phil Matthai in his Zen was crowned as the 'Fastest driver of Autocross Delhi 2014.' The 'Fastest Lady Driver' title was won by Bani Yadav in her Swift, whereas in the Amateur category, the youngest contestant this year- Arjun Rao in Swift marked his victory. 

Speaking on the successful edition of Autocross in Delhi-NCR, Mr. Manohar Bhat, Vice President, Marketing, Maruti Suzuki India, said, “Maruti Suzuki Autocross has become the place where aspiring racers put their driving skills to the test. We are overwhelmed with the warm welcome we get in Delhi-NCR each year. In its 13th year, Autocross has given unparalleled rallying experience to participants year-after-year. This year’s rally saw the highest participation and we are thrilled to see the growing passion for motorsports in India.”

Over the past few years, Maruti Suzuki Autocross has emerged as a good platform for aspiring motorsport enthusiasts to put their driving skills to the test. Started in the year 2002, Autocross aims at providing the participants an opportunity to test their driving skills as well as car's handling characteristics,and making motorsports more than just a hobby. Autocross also acts like a stepping stone from where they begin their journey other Maruti rallies such as Raid de Himalaya, Desert Storm and the Dakshin Dare.
