Porsche, the ultra luxury carmaker has launched the 2014 Panamera, the four-seater sports car in India for Rs. 1.19 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). The vehicle is now available in five models- the Panamera Turbo, the Panamer GTS, Panamera and Panamera 4 with a V6 petrol, and the Panamera diesel.
The Panamera Turbo offers a massive 512.8bhp of power and attains a top speed of around 305kmph. Despite being a powerful sports car, the vehicle claimed 9.8kmpl of fuel efficiency. The diesel model is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel engine that churns out maximum power output of 250bhp and 550Nm of top torque. It has a top speed of 244kmph and has a fuel economy of 15.9kmpl. The other two petrol engines are - a 3.6-litre V6 petrol that develops 310bhp and 400Nm of torque, and a naturally aspirated 4.8-litre V8 that produces 440bhp and 520Nm of torque.
The new Porsche Panamera gets the newly formulated Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) gearbox, steering box mounts, tweaked suspensions, new 18-inch alloys and Porsche Stability Management. The other changes included in the vehicle are tighter creases, widened rear windscreen, wider spoiler and optional LED headlights.
The vehicle now comes equipped with various standard features such as electric sunroof, Porsche navigation and communication management, BOSE sound system, parking assist with reverse camera and air suspension with PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management). Full LED headlights feature Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus and a 1000 W Burmester sound system is also available as an optional features. The company also provided a Porsche exclusive programme for further customiseing a Panamera.
