Seems like Mercedes-Benz has decided to start 2016 with a bang, as they have officially revealed a sketch of the upcoming E-Class sedan which will make world debut on 11th January 2016. Besides the sketch, the German automaker has also released a teaser video which highlights certain body elements of the car like the Multibeam LED headlamps with 84 individually controlled high-performance-LED. These details were revealed on 1st January 2016, to set the ball rolling in the New Year.
An earlier video had revealed the interiors of the car which showcased a digital dashboard like the one employed in S-Class. But unlike the S-Class’ separate screens, E-Class uses two 12.3” displays within a single unit. The unveiling of the car will take place in Detroit at the 2016 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). Based on the details revealed so far, the car seems to have adopted the new Mercedes-Benz design language which can be seen on the S and C-Class sedans. The front looks more aggressive with the signature 2 slat grille holding the three-pointed star in the center. This car will compete against Audi A6 and BMW 5-Series.
This world debut will take place a day before the launch of Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe in India. GLE Coupe will rival BMW’s X6 and will cost around Rs. 85-90 lac. Powered by a 3.0-liter bi-turbo V6 petrol engine, the car features 357 bhp alongside 520 Nm of torque. Though the torque figures are nearly 110 Nm less then the fellow German rival but at the same time, it is offering 48 bhp more. So, we have to wait till the launch to find out how the engine delivers this power.
