Audi has finally launched the performance edition RS7 of its Sportsback A7 in India. It is purely a performance oriented version and it comes with lightening fast acceleration, as reflecting quite clearly by the name. Audi has launched it with a price of Rs. 1.29 Crore (Ex. Showroom, Mumbai).
Performance edition RS7 is powered by a 4.0-litre TFSI twin-turbo V8 powertrain which possesses the capability of belting out an enormous power output of 560 bhp at 6700rpm and a peak torque of around 700Nm at 1750rpm. It is coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission in order to get brisk pace and at the same point of time, maintain performance without hampering the fuel economy. This same engine also perform its duties to Audi's existing S6 but its tweaked a bit this time for RS7.
Such is the agility of this supercar, that it crosses the 100kmph barrier from standstill in a mere 3.9 seconds. Moreover, it has a top speed of 250kmph. Additionally, like every RS vehicle, it too gets Quattro four-wheel-drive system. There are several modifications in the exterior appearance of the vehicle that distinguishes it from the regular A7 sportsback. The USP of RS7 is the cylinder deactivation functionality which enables an individual to power off four cylinders while vehicle is under low engine load, in order to achieve a greater fuel economy. Audi RS7 is lined up against the likes of BMW M5 and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG in India.
