To update a software in airbag control unit, Audi India has issued a recall of A4 sedans manufactured from November 2011 to October 2014. The company is recalling 6,758 units of A4 to update parameters of airbag control unit. At the recall campaign, company will only update the software as no components are required to be replaced.

According to statement released by the company, “This activity is specific to Audi A4 cars manufactured between November 2011 and October 2014. There are 6,758 Audi A4 identified for this software update campaign.”

Dealers will get in touch with concerned customers to fix the appointment at the service station. The software update at the authorised Audi workshop will take less than 30 minutes per car.

"The proactive step of software update is being done towards setting parameters for effective deployment of airbags. The safety of our customers and long-term service life of our vehicles for better reliability remain our top priorities at Audi. To ensure the same, we conduct regular programs to constantly monitor the quality of our products”, the company said.

Audi A4 recall in country is part of the company's recall of 8.5 lakh units of the A4 sedan globally to repair defective airbag. Last week, the carmaker also recalled 382 units of Q7 manufactured between March and December 2012, to replace faulty vacuum line in brake system as part of a global exercise.
