The ultra-luxurious carmaker Bentley has teamed up with the British phone manufacturer Vertu to produce a series of luxury smartphones. And the first Bentley tailored Vertu device will make its way to the market later this year. This collaboration isn't a passing romance either, as the two firms have signed a five-year working contract with each other, and will deliver five exclusive smartphones during this period.
Wolfgang Dürheimer, chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors, said: “Bentley’s new partnership with Vertu brings together two world-leading brands defined by their commitment to performance, luxury and customer experience. The collaboration expands Bentley’s luxury range into the cutting-edge world of mobile communications and offers customers a new way to experience the world of Bentley. Exclusive Bentley content will appeal to drivers, travellers and brand enthusiasts, through a partnership that delivers on both technology and touch. Today, we see the marriage of two great brands with an international presence and quintessential British heritage and character. The unique experience of luxury and performance inherent in every Bentley has now found further expression in the world’s most desirable mobile phone.”
Though the phone maker kept mum and didn't gave away anything about the possible specifications of the Vertu for Bentley smartphone. But at the same time, gave some clue about the device, stating that “the device will be worked on by both Vertu’s and Bentley’s design teams, and will include 'iconic Bentley design elements.” This statement gives a fair idea about the exclusivity of the upcoming devices from an all-new collaboration.
Announcing the partnership and new device, CEO of Vertu Massimiliano Pogliani said: “Exclusive Bentley content will appeal to drivers, travellers and brand enthusiasts, through a partnership that delivers on both technology and touch. This partnership will allow Vertu to fully integrate with the Bentley brand; phones will be jointly designed by the Vertu and Bentley design teams, based on a relationship that goes far deeper than the utilisation of materials and cues on design.”
