Indian arm of the leading tyre manufacturer Bridgestone has announced a contribution of INR 1 Crore to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for flood affected Jammu and Kashmir. With this donation, Bridgestone aims at providing aid to the affected people in that region, and expects a speedy recovery for them. The fund will be mainly utilised in the re-building of infrastructure destroyed during the floods. On behalf of Bridgestone, Mr. Ajay Sevekari Director HR&A, Logistic, Purchase & IT yesterday handed over the cheque to the Prime Minister’s Office.
“Our heartfelt sympathies are with all those who were affected by the floods,” said Mr. Kazuhiko Mimura, Managing Director, Bridgestone India Pvt. Ltd. ”This is truly an unforeseen and unfortunate incident and Bridgestone hopes to play a part in rebuilding the lives of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”
