Datsun has finally launched the much awaited Datsun Go hatchback at the ongoing 2014 Indian Auto Expo. The Go hatchback had its world premiere in India on July 15, 2013, and the deliveries for the car will commence from March 2014.

The five-door hatchback is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that also does duty to the Nissan Micra hatchback. The engine churns out a maximum power output of 67bhp (74bhp) and 104Nm of top torque.  Power is transmitted to front wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. This is the same engine which also powers the Nissan Micra Active.

Based on the old Micra platform, the Go hatch measures 3785mm length, 1635mm wide and 1485mm height. It offers a spacious cabin thanks to a larger wheelbase of 2450mm. Datsun Go feature a docking station to connect with smartphones.

The Datsun Go feature a hexagonal honeycomb grille with chrome surround, lift type door handles and a single wiper. The hatchback feature a 13-inch steel wheels, which looks quite small in size. Its side profile feature a couple of horizontal creases, which offers some sportiness to the car.

Inside the cabin, the Datsun Go has beige colour and the gearlever is fixed at the base of the centre console. Unlike the conventional car, where the handbrake is positioned between the front seats, the handbrake is placed right of the gearshift lever. The vehicle feature a driver side airbag, however it won't offer a passenger side airbag. The door handles, AC vents and the instrument cluster are directly sourced from Micra hatchback.
