Mitsubishi is all set to discontinue its all time praised car, the Lancer EVO and to bid it farewell, the Final Edition is out. Only 1,000 of such cars will be made and the bookings have started in Japan. While back in December 2014, the manufacturer showcased a prototype named Lancer EVO X Concept that was put in sinister black paint and was said to pack 473 Bhps. From the Indian perspective, Lancer has had huge fan following and the EVO is been driven by a number of Indian Rally Champions.

Coming back to the Final Edition, the images show that the exteriors are same as the actual car with scooped bonnet, signature gaping front grill, understated wheel arches, blacked out roof, a rear with race spec diffuser. There are other visual finesses like gloss black-painted front bumper and single exhaust tips on both sides of the rear. Interested customers can choose from five different colors namely: Red, White, Blue, Black or Grey. Though Mitsubishi haven’t revealed the power figure but since the basic production version generates 291 Bhp, the Final Edition will definitely make more, but don't expect it to produce 473bhp.

The insides of the car get Recaro racing red stitching seats, Final Edition Insignia and a plaque engraved with the number of car it is.

And most importantly, this won't be an end to a car but a legacy that Lancers have brought with them from their very advent and compels me to put a quote as "The Essence of heroism is to die, so that others can live".

Its performance features consists of brembo disc brakes, MIVEC turbo 2.0 litre motor, 18-inch BBS wheels with gunmetal paint, 5-speed manual GSR gearbox, Bilstein and Eibach.

This car is expected to come somewhere near August and might be followed by discontinuation of EVO X. And most importantly, this won't be an end to a car but a legacy that Lancers have brought with them from their very advent and compels me to put a quote as "The Essence of heroism is to die, so that others can live".
