2014 Indian Auto Expo is going to be full of surprises, as all the automakers will showcase their future products and concepts. Japanese carmaker, Honda has plans to unveil several new products including new Jazz and Mobilio MPV. If reports are to be believed, Honda will also present the Freed MPV at the 2014 Auto Expo.
Indian Auto Expo's official twitter page said that Honda's globally successful "the Freed MPV will be shown at the Auto Expo 2014". If it comes to India, then it will compete against the highly successful Toyota Innova. Honda seems to be aggressive with its strategies, as with the launch of Amaze it directly targets the country's top selling Maruti Dzire compact sedan. Like Amaze, the new Jazz and Brio based compact SUV will cross sword with Maruti Swift and Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster, respectively. The Mobilio MPV will rival the Ertiga MPV and Chevrolet Enjoy.
The Freed MPV is expected to be powered by a de-tuned 2.2-litre diesel engine and the tried and tested 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol mill. It is also speculated that the Japanese carmaker will introduce the new generation Freed, which will also make its global debut by 2015-16. The reason to bring Freed would be that this segment only feature Innova and their is a huge possibility to increase the market share by launching a good product in this lucrative segment.
