The Korean automaker records 4.1 per cent growth in the month of January 2015 in the domestic market. Hyundai is country’s second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter. Speaking of the numbers, the company recorded domestic sales of 34,780 units and exported 10,004 units with cumulative sales of 44,784 units.

Commenting on the January sales Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. VP- Sales and Marketing, HMIL said, “Hyundai sold 34,780 units in the domestic market with a growth of 7% over last month. This growth came in on the momentum built by leading products like new Elite i20, Grand and Eon while facing the stiff challenges of increasing cost of ownership on account of increase in excise duties. For sustained growth the need of the hour is reduction in interest rates & rationalisation of taxes to increase the inflow of the first time buyers"

Adding on the upcoming launches, Hyundai Motors India will launch the facelifted 2015 Verna on 17th of February. The cross Elite i20 will be launched in March, it will be a world debut. While the much anticipated Hyundai’s venture in the compact SUV arena - ix25 will be launched in the month of August. Moreover, Hyundai will also launch next generation Sonata and Elantra facelift this year. Will be a busy year for the Koreans.
