Hyundai India will make the global premier of the much anticipated ‘Creta’ tomorrow. The vehicle will square off against the compact SUVs brigade - Renault Duster, Ford EcoSport, Nissan Terrano, upcoming Maruti Suzuki S-Cross and would also fall in the price bracket of Mahindra Scorpio and Tata Safari Storme. Speaking of the prices, expect it to be in the vicinity of Rs 8.50 lac to 13.50 lac.

Hyundai Creta will come in three engine options - two diesel and one petrol; all the engines are borrowed from the Verna. The petrol trims will get the 1.6-liter dual VTVT gathering 123 PS @ 6,400 and 151 Nm at 4850 rpm. The diesel trims will offer - 1.4L and 1.6L CRDi, the 1.4L produces 90 PS @ 4000 rpm, 220 Nm @ 1500 - 2750 rpm; the 1.6L generates 128 PS @ 4000 rpm and 260 Nm @ 1900 - 2750 rpm. Transmission options include - a standard 6-speed manual gearbox while the 1.6L diesel gets the optional segment-first 6-Speed automatic box.

The Korean automaker is saying that Creta will make its global debut in India, however, it is based on the ix25 which Hyundai has already launched exclusively in China in 2014. Apart from the name, Creta is similar to the ix25. So technically, Hyundai is referring the car with a new name that will make its global debut in India and will later launch in other markets including Europe.
