Chevrolet has announced that the all-new 2016 Spark a.k.a. Chevrolet Beat (in India) will make its debut at the New York and Seoul auto shows on April 2. The 2016 Chevrolet Beat will get a sleeker design along with a progressive take on Chevrolet’s signature design cues. The Beat has been the most successful product for the bow-tie brand in India. More than 1.1 million units of Spark have been sold around the world since it went on sale as the Beat in India in late 2009. Chevrolet Beat is available in 71 markets worldwide with South Korea being its biggest market, followed by the United States and Mexico.

“The new Spark’s design has evolved and grown up with the segment,” said Michael Simcoe, GM International vice president of Design. “The youthful whimsy of the original Spark is still in its genes, but it is conveyed in more traditional proportions that reinforce the customer’s refined expectations.”

Chevrolet says that the Beat attracts mostly younger and first-time car buyers with 26 percent being under the age of 35. Sales of the Beat in the U.S. are up 32 percent in the first two months of 2015 versus the same period in 2014. Though there has been no update about the India launch for the new Beat, we can expect it to be launched by late 2015. Watch this space for more information.
