Jeep is finally here! The automaker will be revealing its Indian line-up at the 2016 Auto Expo

To create a buzz amongst the Indian automotive fanatics before unveiling of the brand, Jeep has introduced a pre-launch website of its Indian operation. The brand will come under the Fiat-Chrysler umbrella (FCA - Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles) and will be officially launched at the 2016 Auto Expo in February. As of now, FCA India is offering Fiat, Abarth, Maserati, Ferrari brands in the country. Jeep brand will be added to the list starting next year.

Speaking on the occasion Kevin Flynn, President and Managing Director, FCA India, has said, “It gives us immense pride to launch this iconic Jeep brand in India. Today, FCA embarks on a new expedition in the Indian market and we hope this significant milestone will help us to firmly establish Jeep in India right from the start.”

He further added, “The new Jeep brand positioning on the website reflects an ambition to expand the marque’s global footprint while staying true to its legacy. Stay tuned to experience more about this exciting brand’s arrival in India in the coming months.”

It seems like the American SUV manufacturer will also launch the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler Unlimited in February. Earlier in July this year, FCA had announced an investment of $ 280 million into Fiat’s Ranjangaon manufacturing facility along with Tata Motors Limited. This investment was to support the production of Jeep’s new global vehicle, which is likely to make its world debut in India and will be exported to other markets.
