Mahindra Reva and Carzonrent announced a strategic partnership to launch first-of- its kind Electric Vehicle in the Self Drive category in India. Carzonrent will offer Mahindra e2o for Self-drive in New Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai at most economical price ever. Each city will have a fleet size of five e2o’s to begin with and the service will be expanded in all metropolitan cities.

In a first of its kind endeavour, Mahindra Reva and Carzonrent have joined hands to transform the on-ground mobility segment in India. In this alarming rate of increase in pollution and rising fuel prices, this initiative will encourage eco-friendly travel in metropolitan cities. The tie-up also enhances the Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure in India with over 100 charge points at prime locations in key cities. Charge points at convenient locations will be availed free of cost by the customers for Carzonrent’s Mahindra e2o Self Drive services.  Carzonrent plans to enhance the availability of Mahindra e2o to expand in multiple locations across the cities.

Though the organized Self-drive market is still small, the demand has been growing exponentially over the last couple of years with better roads, higher costs of chauffeurs and availability of navigation facility. Induction of e2o into the self-drive fleet has been undertaken to capture this huge potentially untapped market and make it cost-effective for the consumers.

Mahindra Reva had unveiled its future-ready, next generation all-electric, zero emission Mahindra e2o (powered by Reva) a few months ago. The car is equipped with a fully automatic transmission with Boost Mode for quick acceleration and a range of 100 kms, making it ideal for city driving. Mahindra e2o is a manifestation of Mahindra’s vision of the Future of Mobility, expressed by the 5C’s framework - Clean, Convenient, Connected, Clever and Cost Effective. It also advances the Mahindra Group's efforts at redefining sustainable urbanization with the creation of an eco-system that includes mobility solutions along with other environment friendly innovations.
