Well good news for Maruti lovers, as the dealers have started taking booking for the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz with an upfront payment of Rs. 21,000. The car lies in C Segment saloon and lock horns with Honda City and Hyundai Verna. With media drives on the roll, the Ciaz is reportedly giving a fuel economy of 26.3kmpl. A replacement of SX4, Ciaz is expected to be launched in the price bracket of Rs. 7 to 8 lakh for petrol model and Rs. 8 to 10 lakh for diesel model. The car will launched in the festive month of October, probably in the mid.
We called a few dealers in Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh and Jaipur and they all confirmed us that the advance booking for both diesel and petrol Ciaz is on with an advance payment of Rs 21,000 for all the four variants namely, V, V+, Z, Z+. The petrol variants will be named as VXI, VXI+ while the diesel variants will named as VDI, VDI+.
Ciaz will carry the 1.3-litre Fiat sourced Multijet diesel which develops a power of 89bhp with 200Nm of peak torque while the petrol models gets 1.4 liter K10B motor that gives an output of 91.18bhp and 130 Nm of max torque. The diesel engine is coupled to five speed manual transmission while the petrol model is offered with both manual and four speed automatic gearbox. The petrol model delivers a fuel economy of 20.73kmpl while the diesel model delivers a fuel economy of 26.3kmpl.
In terms of safety, the car gets ABS with EBD and driver airbag in V+ trims while the Z trims sports dual front airbags.
