Maruti Ertiga Facelift is all set to make its official debut on October 15. There has been a considerable amount of delay, since it was showcased at the Indonesians Auto Expo. Besides, it has been spied a couple of times in the country.
This upgrade will see minor exterior tweaks like a redesigned front bumper, a new grille setup with a pronounced use of chrome, new set of alloy wheels and new rear bumper layout. On the inside, it could get start/Stop button, SmartPlay infotainment unit from Ciaz and new upholstery. While the biggest change is under the hood where it would be getting a new CVT automatic transmission and the SHVS mild hybrid system with the diesel motor to boost up the mileage.
The new Ertiga will be powered by the same set of 1.3 liter DDiS200 diesel and 1.4 litre petrol motors producing respective power outputs of 88.8bhp/200Nm torque and 93.7bhp/130Nm of torque. Though, the driving dynamics will remain largely identical, but a slight influence will be noticed by the the application of the CVT automatic and the Suzuki mild hybrid technology. Moreover, the mileage of the petrol is expected to remain the same at 16.02 kmpl with the manual transmission, while the diesel will get more than the current 20.77 kmpl figure.
Competition comprises of the likes of Honda Mobilio, Renault Lodgy, Toyota Innova and compared to these, Ertiga sells quite decent. This upgrade is expected to grow Ertiga’s MPV market presence as currently no other manufacturer is offering an automatic transmission option in this segment.
