Porsche, the ultra luxury carmaker has released a teaser image of the production version of the Macan SUV, which is scheduled to debut at the LA Motor Show next month.
The teaser image shows that the Macan SUV will retain the design of quad LED daytime running lights, which is also being on offered in the new 918 Spyder. The tail light design also resembles the recently launched facelifted Panamera. The tailgate-mounted spoiler at the rear perfectly blends with the smart curve of the car's roof. Macan is built on the Volkswagen's famous MLB platform, and the same platform is also used to develop the Audi Q5 crossover.
The Macan is speculated to become the best selling Porsche models, and it will also help the company to smartly transit from the niche sportscar maker to a premium carmaker. It will also be the cheapest Porsche ever, as the diesel model is expected to be tagged around £38,237 (INR 3741085.79).
Engine specifications for the Macan SUV remain speculative- the vehicle is expected to get a turbocharged 3.0 and 3.6-litre V6 engines, a turbo 2.0-litre four-cylinder and a supercharged 3.0-litre V6. The diesel SUV will get a 3.0-litre V6 powertrain that churns out maximum power ouput of 254bhp, and will return around 16kmpl of fuel economy. The range topping 3.6-litre V6 turbo engine is capable of developing 394bhp, and claims to return about 11kmpl of mileage.
After launch, Macan SUV will compete against the likes of baby Range Rover and the BMW X3.
