The Japanese automaker, Nissan that unveiled the much anticipated compact SUV Terrano on August 20th, is now gearing up to launch the vehicle in the next month to capitalize on festive mood of Indian buyers. The company is yet to reveal the exact launch date of the vehicle, however, according to some media reports the compact SUV will make its official debut on October 9 in the Indian market.
Nissan India has also organised the media drive for Terrano, and uploaded the brochure on its official website, which provides some important information. Moreover, the company has also started taking pre-orders for the car across the country. The vehicle is expected to be priced around Rs. 8.5 lakh for the entry level variant.
Nissan Terrano will be made available in seven variants namely XE, 85PS XL, 110PS XL, 104PS XL petrol, XL Plus, XV and XV Premium. Just one petrol variant will come with the same 1.6-litre 4-cylinder powertrain, which also does duty to the Duster. The diesel version of the vehicle will be powered by the 1.5-litre K9K mill, which is tuned to offer two power output figures - 110PS and 85PS.
Nissan Terrano will come in six different colours - Pearl White, Blade Silver, Sapphire Black, Sterling Grey, Bronze Grey and Fire Red. It is based on the hugely successful Renault Duster, but the company has made enough changes to make it look refreshed and different than the later. The front fascia of the SUV seems to be inspired from the company's flagship X-Trail SUV, as it gets a revised bumper, honeycomb grille, newly designed headlamps and a big Nissan logo.
The petrol variant of the SUV gets ABS + EBD + BA, a music system, piano black centre console and front fog lamps. The top-of-the line diesel variant of the car is equipped with various features such as anti-lock braking system, Electronic Brake distribution force with Brake assist, reverse parking sensor, rear AC, leather wrapped steering wheels and others.
