As the Tata Motors is prepping up for the launch of its new Nano GenX, dealers across the country have started taking booking with an upfront payment of Rs 5,000. Word around the town is that the new Tata Nano GenX will be launched in four trims, XE, XM, XT and the AMT model XTA.
The automaker has updated its entry level hatch with cosmetic changes in the form of new ‘Smiling’ grille, smoked headlamps and glossy black applique with Tata logo. The rear for the first time gets an openable boot along with redesigned bumper. The boot space in the manual transmission variant is 110 litres while in AMT its 94 litres.
Inside the cabin, the hatch gets new and updated power steering wheel, audio system with Bluetooth, USB and AUX-IN support with four speakers. While under the hood, country’s most affordable hatch is pulled by the same rear-mounted 624cc, MPFI naturally aspirated petrol engine. The two cylinder motors, like before, extract 37.5 bhp and a max torque of 51 Nm. The current Nano with 4-speed manual gearbox delivers an incredible 25.35 kmpl, but with the Easy Shift- AMT, Nano is said to be giving 21.9 kmpl.
Nano GenX with AMT gearbox also features Sport mode along with Creep function which helps maneuvering in city’s bumper to bumper traffic, as it starts crawling the vehicle after releasing the brakes without using the accelerator.
