Renault after revealing Lodgy MPV in Star Guild Awards is now prepping up for its early launch. The dealers have started taking booking of Lodgy MPV at an upfront payment of Rs. 50,000. Renault Lodgy MPV will be pitched against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Honda Mobilio, Chevrolet Enjoy, Nissan Evalia and to some extent Toyota Innova. The French automaker will launch the MPV in both the 7-seater and 8-seater versions.
On the front exterior, the MPV gets large swept back headlights, twin slatted chrome grille with Renault badge fitting in the middle. The side profile looks plain with no curve or side lines. The MPV rides on 15-inch alloy wheels which looks kind of small and it should atleast be offered with an optional set of 16-inch wheels. And if exterior doesn’t impresses you that much, step inside the cabin and you will see where Renault is more busy. The comfort of passenger is where the Renault has hit the bull’s eye. With a wheelbase of 2810 mm - more than the Toyota Innova’s 2750 mm, Ertiga’s 2740 mm and Mobilio’s 2652 mm - Lodgy will be the most spacious 7 seater MPV in the country.
Powering the Lodgy is company’s tried and tested 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine which is tuned to deliver output in two states, 110 PS and 85 PS which we have also seen in Duster. The 110 PS model as the name suggests gives an output of 110 PS @ 4000 rpm with 245 Nm of peak torque and is mated to 6-speed manual gearbox.
