CarDekho has been constantly informing you about Maruti Suzuki's upcoming cars, including compact SUV XA Alpha, new SX4 and the next-generation A-Star. One of the spy photographers from Carscoops has managed to click a new small hatchback, while it was loaded on a trailer, somewhere in the Southern Europe. The vehicle spotted was fully camouflaged, but according to spies it could be the next-generation Maruti Suzuki A-Star, which is globally known as Suzuki Alto. The front fascia of the car sports a tilted "S" badge, giving an idea from which company it comes from.

We reported earlier that Maruti Suzuki is working on a new small hatchback, which will replace the A-Star and the Ritz in the Indian car market. This could be the next small hatchback to replace the two. The new small hatchback is expected to offer the spaciousness of the Ritz, while offering the fuel efficiency of the Alto/A-Star. The vehicle is expected to be powered by the same 1.0-litre engine. Media reports suggest that the Suzuki's new hatchback would offer a best-in-class fuel economy of 33km/l.

It is quite difficult to comment on the design and features of the spotted vehicle, but it is visible that the new hatchback will be more spacious and practical. The new Maruti Suzuki is expected to hit markets in 2014. We expect it to be showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo.
