Skoda Rapid Spaceback introduced in the UK

Skoda UK has now introduced the Rapid Spaceback, expanding its model range, which will sit between the Skoda Fabia and the Skoda Octavia. With its dynamically fresh design, the Skoda Rapid Spaceback targets the younger customers. The vehicle offers a lot of space, top safety, low fuel consumption and an excellent value for money proposition to its buyers. The Rapid Spaceback will be premiered at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, and will be put on sale from October 2013 in the European markets.

The Skoda Rapid Spaceback looks sportier and stretched, almost like a coupe, when compared with conventional hatchback models. The dynamic silhouette of the Skoda Rapid Spaceback is marked by clear lines, a long wheelbase (2,602 mm) and the sharp, high tornado line. The Rapid Spaceback has a ‘C’ and a ‘D’ column with a third side window.

A huge panoramic glass roof is also available with new Rapid Spaceback as an option. This tinted glass roof reaches all the way from the windscreen to the rear window, offering passengers an unobstructed view of the sky. A black spoiler at the upper end of the rear window emphasizes the dynamic impression.

The interior of the new Rapid Spaceback features a sporty three-spoke steering wheels, stylish trim lines and fresh designs for seat covers. It has an optional double cargo floor in the trunk, permitting the trunk to be divided into two horizontal levels providing double utility. The Rapid Spaceback gets all the features from the Rapid sedan including the ice scraper in the fuel filler flap and the holder for the safety vest under the driver seat, the double-sided floor cover in the trunk or the waste bin in the side door.

The new Skoda Rapid Spaceback also features various safety measures such as front, side and head airbags, height-adjustable three-point safety belts with pre-tensioners and height-adjustable head restraints. The ABS (Anti-lock braking system) and ESC systems are standard. Other active safety features are optional xenon headlights, tire pressure control, fog-lights with corner function or the ‘hill-hold control’ assistant. For European buyers, the Skoda Rapid Spaceback is available with four petrol and two diesel engines.
