Bharti Airtel spurts after better-than-expected Q4 result

Bharti Airtel gained 4.05% to Rs 422.55 at 11:20 IST on BSE after the company reported better-than-expected Q4 March 2018 result after market hours yesterday, 24 April 2018.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 80.29 points, or 0.23% to 34,536.35.

On the BSE, 6.23 lakh shares were traded in the counter so far, compared with average daily volumes of 3.89 lakh shares in the past two weeks. The stock had hit a high of Rs 427 and a low of Rs 412.15 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 565 on 3 November 2017. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 336.95 on 10 May 2017.

The large-cap company has equity capital of Rs 1998.70 crore. Face value per share is Rs 5.

Bharti Airtel's consolidated net profit fell 10.96% to Rs 419 crore on 10.52% rise in total income to Rs 19893.20 crore in Q4 March 2018 over Q4 March 2017.

Consolidated EBITDA fell 12% to Rs 7034 crore in Q4 March 2018 over Q4 March 2017. Consolidated EBITDA margin decreased by 0.6% to 35.8% in the quarter as compared to 36.4% in the corresponding quarter last year. The consolidated net income after exceptional items for the quarter stands at Rs 83 crore compared to Rs 373 crore in corresponding quarter last year.
