Cap on consecutive terms for Trustees
Capital Market The Government vide notification dated 24.01.2017 has amended paragraph 5(4) of the Employees' Provident Funds (EPF) Scheme, 1952 providing that an outgoing non-official Trustee or Member shall be eligible for re-appointment as a member of the Central Board of Trustees (CBT), Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) or the Regional Committee, as the case may be, for a maximum of not more than two terms. Representations have been received from some of the Central Trade Unions opposing this decision. At present, there is no proposal to review the same.
