China Market closes 0.3% stronger

The Mainland China equity market closed session higher on Monday, 14 May 2018, as investor sentiment was bolstered after the United States and China were toning down their trade war rhetoric on news that US President Donald Trump pledged to help Chinese telecom company ZTE Corp to get back into business, fast. Chinese officials are expected to meet their U.S. counterparts in Washington for a second round of negotiations this week. The blue-chip CSI300 index rose 0.9%, to 3,909.29, while the Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.3% to 3,174.03 points. The Shenzhen Composite Index however edged down 0.10% to 1,823.25, while the Nasdaq-style ChiNext slipped 0.21% to 1,830.98.
