Currency In Circulation Grows By 2.3% This Fiscal

The Reserve Bank Of India (RBI) reported that currency in circulation decreased by 0.80% on the week to stand at Rs 21.84 trillion as on 20th September 2019. The central bank noted further that the overall reserve money also fell by 0.50% on the week to Rs 27.80 trillion. Currency in circulation rose 12.402% on a year ago basis compared to 22.90% at the same time last year. In the current fiscal, the currency in circulation has grown by 2.3% while the reserve money has edged up by just 1.2%.
