Delta Corp gains after reporting turnaround in Q4

Delta Corp rose 3.25% to Rs 90.45 at 12:40 IST on BSE after the company reported consolidated net profit of Rs 0.77 crore in Q4 March 2015 compared with net loss of Rs 1.95 crore in Q4 March 2014.

The result was announced after market hours on Friday, 17 April 2015,

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was down 244.63 points, or 0.86%, to 28,197.47.

On BSE, so far 6.37 lakh shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 5.25 lakh shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 91.80 and a low of Rs 89.05 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 112.45 on 23 May 2014. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 68.05 on 27 March 2015.

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 17 April 2015, rising 1.57% compared with 1.02% fall in the Sensex. The scrip had however underperformed the market in past one quarter, falling 11.38% as against Sensex's 1.14% rise.

The mid-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 23.07 crore. Face value per share is Re 1.

Delta Corp's total income rose 1.29% to Rs 90.12 crore in Q4 March 2015 over Q4 March 2014.

On consolidated basis, Delta Corp reported net loss of Rs 22.77 crore in the year ended 31 March 2015 (FY 2015) compared with net profit of Rs 35.31 crore in the year ended 31 March 2015 (FY 2014). Total income declined 47.88% to Rs 307.39 crore in FY 2015 over FY 2014.

Delta Corp said that the Board of Directors of the company at its meeting held on 17 April 2015, recommended dividend of Re. 0.10 per share for the year ending 31 March 2015 (FY 2015).

Delta Corp is the largest and only listed company within the gaming and hospitality segment in India with three out of the six issued offshore gaming licenses in the state of Goa. Delta Corp is rapidly expanding its gaming positions in Goa and currently offers 2,000 gaming positions. Delta Corp also has recently started a first of its kind integrated casino resort in Daman.
