10-year G-sec Paper yield closes at 7.79%

The yield on 10-year benchmark federal paper, 7.72% GS 2025, increased 02 bps (basis points) to close at 7.79%, compared with the close of 7.77% in the previous trading session. The total trading volume on the central bank's gilts trading platform stood at Rs 26790 crore.

The bonds fell, pushing the 10-year yield up tracking fall in Rupee which plunged to the weakest level in more than two years as a global selloff spurs outflows from local equities

The weighted average rate in the overnight call money increased to 6.77% compared with 6.76% in the previous session. The call money rate hovered in the range of 5.00% to 7.10% with the volume at Rs 16669.92 crore.
