Export of Oilmeals down by 36% in April - August, 2014

The Solvent Extractors' Association of India has just compiled the export data for export of oilmeals for the month of August, 2014. The total export of oilmeals during April-August 2014 is reported at 864,929 tons compared to 1,355,980 tons i.e. down by 36%. In August 2014 export of oilmeals is reported at 133,404 tons compared to 317,161 tons in August 2013 i.e. down by 58%. Export of soybean meal greatly reduced in last 5 months due to lower crop than expected resulted in to high cost of soybean in local market. This lead to total disparity for soybean meal in international market. Brighter side is the share of rapeseed meal increased from 358,196 to 513,785 in last 5 months.
