Net outflow of Rs 552.40 crore on 13 June 2013

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth net Rs 552.40 crore on Thursday, 13 June 2013, compared with outflow of Rs 1044.20 crore on Wednesday, 12 June 2013.

The net outflow of Rs 552.40 crore on Thursday, 13 June 2013, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2461 crore and gross sales of Rs 3013.40 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 552.80 crore from the secondary equity markets on 13 June 2013, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2460.20 crore and gross sales of Rs 3012.90 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had shed 213.97 points or 1.12% to settle at 18,827.16 on that day, its lowest closing level since 17 April 2013.

There was a net inflow of Rs 0.40 crore into the category 'primary market others' on Thursday, 13 June 2013, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 0.80 crore and gross sales of Rs 0.40 crore.

FIIs have sold shares worth Rs 1457.70 crore in June 2013 so far (till 13 June 2013). FIIs bought shares worth Rs 22168.60 crore in May 2013.

FIIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 81747.40 crore in 2013 so far (till 13 June 2013). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 128359.80 crore in calendar 2012.

There are a total of 1,759 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
