Net outflow of Rs 679.32 crore on 14 October 2014
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 679.32 crore on Tuesday, 14 October 2014, compared with outflow of Rs 542.37 crore on Monday, 13 October 2014.
The net outflow of Rs 679.32 crore on 14 October 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2922.45 crore and gross sales of Rs 3601.77 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 679.79 crore into the secondary equity market on 14 October 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2921.92 crore and gross sales of Rs 3601.71 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex fell 34.74 points or 0.13% to settle at 26,349.33 on that day, its lowest closing level since 10 October 2014.
There was a net inflow of Rs 0.47 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 14 October 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 0.53 and gross sales of Rs 0.06 crore.
FPIs have sold shares worth a net Rs 2657.99 crore in this month so far (till 14 October 2014). They have sold shares worth a net Rs 3267.15 crore from the secondary markets in this month so far (till 14 October 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 5102.52 crore in September 2014. They bought shares worth a net Rs 4137.79 crore from the secondary equity markets in that month.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 80779.70 crore in this calendar year so far (till 14 October 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 72214.90 crore from the secondary equity markets in this year so far.
