Net outflow of Rs 1097.11 crore on 16 October 2014

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 1097.11 crore on Thursday, 16 October 2014, compared with outflow of Rs 679.32 crore on Tuesday, 14 October 2014.

The net outflow of Rs 1097.11 crore on 16 October 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4205.07 crore and gross sales of Rs 5302.18 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 1097.11 crore into the secondary equity market on 16 October 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4205.07 crore and gross sales of Rs 5302.18 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex lost 349.99 points or 1.33% to settle at 25,999.34 on that day, its lowest closing level since 13 August 2014.

FPIs have sold shares worth a net Rs 3755.10 crore in this month so far (till 16 October 2014). They have sold shares worth a net Rs 4364.26 crore from the secondary markets in this month so far (till 16 October 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 5102.52 crore in September 2014. They bought shares worth a net Rs 4137.79 crore from the secondary equity markets in that month.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 79682.60 crore in this calendar year so far (till 16 October 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 71117.80 crore from the secondary equity markets in this year so far.
