HDFC gains after PBOC hikes stake

HDFC rose 1.65% to Rs 1,730 after People's Bank of China (PBOC) raised its stake in HDFC to 1.01% from 0.8%.

According to the latest shareholding pattern, the People's Bank of China (PBOC) held 1.74 crore shares or 1.01% equity stake in HDFC as on 31 March 2020.

As of March 2019, PBOC held 0.8% stake in HDFC.

HDFC is engaged in financing by way of loans for the purchase or construction of residential houses, commercial real estate and certain other purposes, in India.
