Posts monthly growth in production after 56 months of consistent decline

India's natural gas production improved 3.7% to 2.836 billion cubic meters (bcm) in August 2015 over a year ago, posting monthly growth after consistent decline for last 56 sequential months.

Natural gas output of ONGC improved 5.3% to 1.856 bcm, while that of private and JV companies fell 0.2% to 0.738 bcm. Meanwhile, the natural gas production of Oil India increased 3.7% to 0.243 bcm in August 2015.

Natural gas output declined 2.7% to 13.699 bcm in April-August 2015 over April-August 2014.
