Information Technology shares slide

Information Technology stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE IT Sector index falling 142.77 points or 1.12% at 12568.52 at 13:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE IT Sector index, Hexaware Technologies Ltd (down 5.42%), Tech Mahindra Ltd (down 4.37%),HCL Technologies Ltd (down 4%),Tata Elxsi Ltd (down 3.1%),Subex Ltd (down 2.96%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Nucleus Software Exports Ltd (down 2.71%), Infosys Ltd (down 2.19%), Majesco Ltd (down 2.06%), Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd (down 1.64%), and Persistent Systems Ltd (down 1.26%).

On the other hand, Zen Technologies Ltd (up 20%), 3i Infotech Ltd (up 13.11%), and eClerx Services Ltd (up 12.99%) moved up.

At 13:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 285.63 or 0.94% at 30665.44.

The Nifty 50 index was up 87.45 points or 0.98% at 9012.75.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 140.18 points or 1.35% at 10506.71.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 39.66 points or 1.08% at 3700.06.

On BSE,1473 shares were trading in green, 722 were trading in red and 150 were unchanged.
