Kharif Sowing Crosses 876.70 Lakh Hectare Mark
97.71% of Normal of Corresponding Week Area Covered
Sowing of kharif crops showed a steady increase during the week ended 14 August 2014. The total sown area as on 14th August, as per reports received from States, stands at 876.70 lakh hectare as compared to 928.03 lakh hectare at this time last year. The total sowing area reaches to 97.71% of normal of corresponding week area i.e 897.20 lakh hectare.The details of the areas sown so far this year and last year are given below: -
