Turnover surges
Nifty December 2013 futures were at 6260, at a premium of 42.85 points over spot closing of 6217.15. Turnover on NSE's futures & options (F&O) segment jumped to Rs 185735.31 crore from Rs 109088.66 crore on Tuesday, 17 December 2013.
Aurobindo Pharma December 2013 futures were at 375.45, near spot closing of 374.25.
ICICI Bank December 2013 futures were at 1108.25, at a premium over spot closing of 1103.55.
Power Grid Corporation of India December 2013 futures were at 100, near spot closing of 99.95.
In the spot market, the 50-unit CNX Nifty surged 78.10 points or 1.27% to settle at 6,217.15, its highest closing level since 12 December 2013.
The December 2013 derivatives contracts expire on 26 December 2013.
