Turnover surges
Nifty December 2013 futures were at 6183.10, at a premium of 16.45 points over spot closing of 6166.65. Turnover on NSE's futures & options (F&O) segment jumped to Rs 224277.28 crore from Rs 185735.31 crore on Wednesday, 18 December 2013.
Power Grid Corporation of India December 2013 futures were at 99.45, near spot closing of 99.
United Spirits December 2013 futures were at 2662, at a premium over spot closing of 2658.
State Bank of India December 2013 futures were at 1734.50, at a premium over spot closing of 1730.55.
In the spot market, the 50-unit CNX Nifty shed 50.50 points or 0.81% to settle at 6,166.65, its lowest closing level since 17 December 2013.
The December 2013 derivatives contracts expire on 26 December 2013.
