Turnover on NSE's F&O segment drops
The January 2016 futures on the 50-unit Nifty 50 index traded at 7536.95, a premium of 26.65 points compared with Nifty's closing of 7510.30 in the cash market. The Nifty February 2016 futures traded at 7558.20, a premium of 47.90 points compared with the spot closing for the index. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures and options (F&O) segment dropped to Rs 2.05 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 2.45 lakh crore registered during the previous trading session.
In the cash market, the Nifty lost 53.55 points or 0.7% to settle at 7,510.30, its lowest closing level since 14 July 2014.
Reliance Infrastructure (RInfra), Reliance Industries (RIL), IndusInd Bank, Jet Airways (India), Axis Bank and State Bank of India (SBI) were the top traded individual stock futures contracts on the futures & options (F&O) segment of NSE.
RInfra January 2016 futures traded at 575.40, near spot closing of 573. RIL January 2016 futures traded at 1047.90, near spot closing of 1044.40. IndusInd Bank January 2016 futures traded at 912, near spot closing of 908.
Jet Airways January 2016 futures traded at 777, near spot closing of 774.10. Axis Bank January 2016 futures traded at 408.75, near spot closing of 406.75. SBI January 2016 futures traded at 200.50, near spot closing of 199.60.
The January 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 28 January 2016. The February 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 25 February 2016.
