Turnover on NSE's F&O segment rises
The July 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8513, at a discount of 6.50 points compared with Nifty's closing of 8519.50 in the cash market. The Nifty August 2016 futures traded at 8548.60, at a premium of 29.10 points compared with the spot closing for the index. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 2.65 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 2.60 lakh crore registered yesterday, 12 July 2016.
In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index fell 1.55 points or 0.02% to settle at 8,519.50, its lowest closing level since 11 July 2016.
Vedanta, Tata Steel, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Indiabulls Real Estate and State Bank of India were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Vedanta July 2016 futures traded at 163.50, at a premium compared with spot closing of 162.75. Tata Steel July 2016 futures traded at 349.70, at a discount compared with spot closing of 356.05. Indiabulls Housing Finance July 2016 futures traded at 711.10, at a premium compared with spot closing of 709.
Indiabulls Real Estate July 2016 futures traded at 91.35, at a discount compared with spot closing of 91.55. State Bank of India July 2016 futures traded at 227.10, at a premium compared with spot closing of 226.75.
The July 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 28 July 2016. The August 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 25 August 2016.
