Power stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Power index falling 17.48 points or 0.91% at 1898.38 at 13:52 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 5.84%), Siemens Ltd (down 4.53%),Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (down 3.02%),Tata Power Company Ltd (down 2.86%),CESC Ltd (down 2.01%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Torrent Power Ltd (down 1.45%), NHPC Ltd (down 0.62%), Adani Transmission Ltd (down 0.4%), Thermax Ltd (down 0.24%), and Adani Power Ltd (down 0.17%).
On the other hand, K E C International Ltd (up 1.05%), and NTPC Ltd (up 0.09%) moved up.
At 13:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 332.94 or 0.81% at 41549.08.
The Nifty 50 index was up 84.55 points or 0.7% at 12192.45.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 36.53 points or 0.25% at 14713.42.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 2.42 points or 0.05% at 5102.91.
On BSE,897 shares were trading in green, 1442 were trading in red and 165 were unchanged.
