Quick Wrap: Nifty Energy Index falls 6.14%, NIFTY Crashes 2.39%

Nifty Energy index closed down 6.14% at 14427.8 today. The index has slipped 7.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd dropped 13.54%, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd fell 12.36% and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd shed 11.43%. The Nifty Energy index has soared 10.00% over last one year compared to the 6.90% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSE index has dropped 3.94% and Nifty Pharma index has dropped 3.22% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has slid 2.39% to close at 10599.25 while the SENSEX has slid 2.24% to close at 35169.16 today.
