Quick Wrap: Nifty FMCG Index rises 4.13%

Nifty FMCG index closed up 4.13% at 29686.95 today. The index is up 20.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Hindustan Unilever Ltd gained 6.01%, Britannia Industries Ltd jumped 4.85% and Dabur India Ltd rose 4.80%. The Nifty FMCG index is down 3.00% over last one year compared to the 24.28% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Financial Services index is down 2.75% and Nifty Bank index has slid 2.21% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 0.76% to close at 8925.3 while the SENSEX is down 1.01% to close at 30379.81 today.
